Summer Episode

One summer night, Rumi's company manager, John had a party with colleagues at his residence. His apartment is conveniently located in Roppongi.  His wife kindly ordered Sushi for about 20 of us.  Sushi are often delivered for entertaiing guests at home.

Home delivered Sushi were put in a bowl with aa low brim, called Sushi Oke (Wooden bowl for sushi). The large bowl was two-tiered

The party started at 7:00 p.m., but several people have not shown up yet.  Whe the Sushi bowl served, all the sushi on the upper bowl quickly gone!  When I tried  to pu away the empty upper bowl, John said with an impish smile,

"Why not put the upper one underneath?  People may think there must be more Sushi in the lower bowl."
