Akita "BISAIKAN"

Akita prefecture is 600km away in north of Tokyo, but Akita's antenna shop “Bisaikan” offers excellent Akita cuisine, products and Sake in Shinagawa.

When we visited the shop, an event in progress. (Nov. 16 ~ Nov.30) featuring Yu Takahashi, singer songwriter from Akita, who released a new album “Kishikata Yukusue” meaning sometimes we need to reflect on where we have been and where we are going ~ ♬on November 16. It offers a food menu featuring Yu Takahashi & his song.

The restaurant was very crowded with many young people, taking pictures of Yu Takahashi's poster and autographs on the wall.

The event is a great success with many young girls visiting there for dining local foods in a casual atmosphere.

After waiting in a long line, I was ushered to the table and ordered Akita Bento box lunch (JPY2, 300), which includes a variety of Akita foods:

Sashimi (raw fish slices), Fried Horse Mackerel, Pumpkin tempura, Fried Tofu dish, rice, Miso soup, chicken & onion boiled with soy sauce, Grilled miso marinated Mackerel. Japanese style omelet. Japanese pickles. Salad

There is a choice of Akita’s famous “Kiritanpo” (mushed rice put on a chopstick) dishes.
