“NAHAR―RANTHAMBHORE” by Koki Yamada, photographer, is being held at Daikanyama Hillside Forum from April 26, 2025, to May 17, 2025.
The exhibition features wild tigers photographed at the Ranthambhore National Park in India. Nahar is a Bengal tiger. It is a symbolic animal at the top of the food chain, and it is deeply related to local people’s lives as a source of tourist attraction.
On the other hand, the tiger issue underscores the urgent challenges we face, including the preservation of the ecosystem, the impact of population increases on the natural environment, and the delicate balance of becoming a tourist attraction.
The exhibition will shed light on modern society's pressing environmental issues.
The photography of tigers in their deep forest habitat and the rich ecosystem they inhabit is a captivating display of beauty and mystery that will surely inspire all who view it.
At the same time, the exhibition provides an opportunity to reflect on how the preservation of the tigers' living quarters relates to environmental conservation on Earth and our future.
In recent years, bears have appeared in human living quarters in villages and cities in Japan, harming residents. Bears came to the towns in search of food because they couldn’t find enough food in the mountains due to climate change. Our urgent issue is to make a clear borderline between animal and human living quarters.
This exhibition is not just a visual treat, but also an insightful and informative event that will deepen your understanding of the beauty, fragility, and strength of the world of tigers and the connection between nature and human lives.
