TENNOZ CANAL EAST
Tennozu Isle is located in Tokyo Bay and was used to be a mainly warehouse and storage area. In its water front, you can find art galleries, theatre, shops and restaurants.
Recently Tennoz Canal East area has been developed with a lot of new cultural facilities.
Terradea Art Complex, a new hotspot for art in central Tokyo, is attracting a lot of attention from modern art lovers. It was renovated from a warehouse into an art space, and houses TAC GALLERY SPACE and TAC ART STUDIO and six leading Japanese contemporary art galleries.
When I visited Tarrada Art Complex, Junko Oki, a textile & fabric artist, was there to welcome visitors. She is exploring unique expression by hand stitches using needle and thread on a cloth. Her works possess an overwhelming power that transcends the concept of embroidery.
After a stroll along Bond Street, Tennozu's warehouse district, I had lunch at SOHOLM, a Swedish restaurant, and then continued on to the harbor market.

It is an ideal place to go when you want to find a relaxing atmosphere in the middle of bustling Tokyo.
