Episode 2- Curry Bento in Aritayaki (Porcelain)
One day at the end of summer, I visited Arita-city, famous for Aritayaki (or Imariyaki porcelain), in Saga prefecture in Kyushu. This is the place i wanted to visit for many years. Aritayayaki marks the 400th year in 2016. The town is cozy and clearn, and have remains of old houses along the street.
I walked around the street to see Aritayaki enjoying scenery of traditional old Japanese town.
My choice for lunch is "Aritayaki Curry". I went to the curry shop near the station. I was thrilled to see my favorite curried rice in that famous Arita-porcelain plate box!You will see a warm messayge saying, "Thank you from our heart" and instructions for heating in a microwave for 2-5 min.
Curry soup cooked by simmering local Saga beef and vegetables with 28 kins of spices. Taste is rich and well-balanced, in line with my expecttion.
The legendary Arita-Yaki Curry was awarded in a Grand Prix in the All Kyushu Bento Competition in 2012.
