A FEELING OF THE SEASON

March  2023

Mar 30: The Cherry blossom season is still at its peak, but gradually winding down in Tokyo due to unusual rains and cold weather this week. However, the season has just begun in other regions. I enjoyed having lunch at home and appreciating the cherry trees in full bloom that are going very soon.

March 22: Japan defeated the US 3-2 in WBC. Our excitement erupted when the game came to a dramatic ending with Shohei Ohtani striking out Mike Trout to defeat the US.

The cherry blossoms in Tokyo are in full bloom.

March 21: Spring Equinox Day
We visited our family cemetery in Minato-ku to console the soles of our parents in the morning. Then we went to Kawakami-an to have buckwheat noodles with shrimp tempura in Azabu Juban. Soba noodle at Kawakami-an is always special!!

March 15:  Cherry blossoms in Tokyo have begun blooming. Cherry blossoms started blooming 10 days earlier than usual, because temperatures have been rising since the beginning of March, leading to quicker bud growth. The blossoms are expected to be in full bloom next week after the 20th.

March 11: Tokyo Art Fair 2023 is being held at Tokyo Forum from March 9 thru March 11, 2023. I went there today.  It is an opportunity to see a variety of artworks and has a chat with artists. Several works appealed to me, but it is difficult to focus on one.

As I was a bit tired of work with the increasing number of foreign guests to Japan recently. So appreciating art was refreshing and I felt I had energy!
