APRIL 2022

April 1: Going to Chidorigafuchi for cherry blossom viewing is an annual event in spring. It is like going a shrine to pray for a wish to come true. I never get tired of looking at cherry blossoms in full bloom.

April 4:  Cherry blossoms have already started to fall due to heavy rain and wind. We had a fleeting sense of relief.

April 7:  A Day in Kamakura -  Hokokuji Temple

Secluded in the quiet greenery area of Kamakura, Hokokuji is a temple of Zen Buddhism.

Hokokuji Temple is best known for the beautiful bamboo grove behind the main hall. A narrow pathway leads through the bamboo to a tea house where you can enjoy a matcha tea and Japanese sweets.

The garden is well maintained to welcome guests. Good place to refresh and have a piece of mind.

March 14: Damien Hirst's Cherry Blossoms - Damien Hirst’s paintings with vibrant cherry blossoms in full bloom fill the space of the National Art Center. It is a timely exhibition because we are almost ready to welcome cherry blossom season. Damien's cherry blossoms are so strong and magnificent that it is spectacular to see cherry blossoms on such a scale and painted with a unique technique. The exhibition provides with a respite from the depressed feeling of the COVID-19 pandemic. See more DAMIEN HIRST'S CHERRY BLOSSOMS
