Meiji Shrine, Omotesando and Shibuya
MEIJI SHRINE, HARAJUKU/OMOTESANDO and SHIBUYA
Meiji Shrine is one of the most popular shrines in Japan. Constructed around 1920, the shrine is dedicated to the deified spirits of the Meiji Emperor and Empress Shoken. Except for this busy New Year time, it is a sanctuary in the middle of the city away from all the hustle and bustle. You can feel a deep forest atmosphere with a Shinto spirit. Outside the shrine is Harajuku, home to Japan's youth subcultures.
